New Shoes

I'm out of trainers! I bought myself a pair of Rocky type sandles for my poor feet. Being cooped up in trainers in the South African summer is VERY uncomfortable, so they can now breathe again! I managed to walk ok in them this weekend, so I brought another pair of sandles to work today so I can practise walking with a little bit of a heel. So far I've nearly twisted my ankle only twice!!!!! Hopefully, practise makes perfect?

Hi Vix,

Boy, do I envy you. Real shoes! This same topic has come up for me recently. I once was a mini Imelda Marcos when it came to shoes. I couldn't pass up a sale or a shopping trip, without a new pair of shoes. I used to sit on the floor of my closet staring at all my shoes after the stroke. The tears would be pouring down my face cause I'd never get to wear any of them again. The thought of never wearing heels again, bothered me more then the loss of my arm. I guess it is safe to say, a girl's got to do what a girl's got to do.....

I hope you achieve sucess in wearing your new sandles. Keep practicing. I'll be cheering for you and when I get a pair of real shoes again, you can cheer me on.

So happy to hear that I'm not the only nut to shed tears over shoes! Your reply to Vix really said it all, & here I am---in tears as I write...I had just bought a pair of red heels..(those are the shoes that have a slim, thin heel)...and I have a collection of western, custom boots from Nudies in Hollywood any color you want, & I'll never wear them again...oh well;

I suppose we could put our shoes on, just not walk anywhere?
