Meditating ? at the wrong time
I haven't blogged in a while. Been too busy running around and while doing that, my mind has wandered all over the place. Had a strange happening on Thursday. I finally got out to work. It was a dreary misty day. I went the "long" way which would let me make stops on the way. I'm not near a lot of stores (and it will be worse when I move) and so this practice makes sense. I remember passing Herbert Street and getting over 1 lane because the right lane there is "turn only" I had to make a right hand turn but I can't say how far but not real close. I started thinking about everything that has been going on with my life and I drove over RR tracks in the street and thought, I don't remember ever driving over tracks before (and do this route very often). Then, I realized there were houses on the street- never saw them before and no center island of trees. I didn't remember turning off the road I was on and yet, didn't know where I was or where to turn to get back. It was very scary. Finally the road dead-ender at US 1, which must turn a different direction from where it is in the area I knew, so picked the right hand turn and then saw a jug-handle that I could take back and reverse my direction. I never remembered seeing my turn off, never remembered seeing another landmark I knew, nothing. I had driven to another town.
When I used to go to a Reiki circle when I lived in South Florida, we used to have either live or recorded mediataions while the Reiki was performed. They would ask if there was anyone who had never meditated and usually a few hands went up. These people were asked if when they were in school if they ever looked out the window and wished they were somewhere else. Well, this is a form of meditation (I forget what it is called) and what they used. They would lead you somewhere else - out there. Well, that's where I was - out there. Very strange and not the thing to do when driving. After driving back at least 5 miles, I did find my turn. Can't believe I did it!
