I can still make him smile

Tonight I took home my step-son from his weekend visit. Actually, I didn't take him all the way home, we meet halfway most of the time, including tonight.

It began to flurry a bit which was nerve racking. I don't have the best night vision anyway, and seeing the snow look like it could come right through the windsheild did not help. To add to it, I get nervous on wet/slippery roads, especially when passing semi's and around bends in the road. The reason for the curve thing is because I was in a serious car accident when I was almost 17 (I was not driving) and the car spun several times before hitting a telephone pole. It spun after my then boyfriend lost control going around a curve in the road. Semi's make me nervous because I have a small car and it blows me around. My nervousness in general stems from the fear of being out of control. So needless to say I was tense driving. (Patrick did offer to drive for me, but after careful consideration I figured my chances were still better.)

Singing in the car is pretty normal for me anytime and tonight I tried to distract myself a bit by really putting on a hella va show. The big finale was me rapping with Tone Loc doing the Wild Thing, dance moves and all (okay, as much dancing as one can do with two hands safely in the 10 and 2 o'clock positions).

Pretty soon Patrick is giggling which evolves into a full out laugh. I told him in my best Sandra Bullock voice "You luuuvv me" and he said, "Yes I do." It's so nice to hear him tell me he loves me, especially when I'm being silly. pash.gif
