Errands
Today, Hubby and I did several errands together, we went to Hobby Lobby so he could purchase a door hook, then we went to K-Mart to stock up on TP and paper towels, then to Walgreens to get the sale price on Spam at $2.00 each, then lastly to the grocery store. It seems like we can't go to the grocery store without spending around $100. When hubby was working, these 'errands' expendatures were of little consequence, but now, with him recovering from surgery and only getting a fraction of his regular pay and the disability I get from the government.....every penny has to be spent wisely. Before we married, I had a job that paid around $6 an hour so I was used to pinching pennies then, after we got married, he 'taught' me to buy quality...meaning spending more for things..you get what you pay for. Now, I need to shift back into 'frugal' mode.
My parents taught me to squeeze value out of every cent that came in.
Hubby has been a 'factory rat' and made a great wage and the employer provides such a great medical insurance that we have been truly blessed! My hubby has always been very generous with charity and I think of him when I read in the Bible of a 'cheerful giver'.
