What a day (or two)

Got to Philadelphia Mon night around 10, and planned a 10 AM departure to Newark to pick up the load. Stuff wasn't ready in Newark, and didn't leave for Frankfurt until around 4 PM. It was a 7 hour flight to Germany, and was uneventful. Good weather and a smooth ride. Caught a few hours sleep, wandered around the town (Morbach) a little. Nice, small town. It rained, so I didn't get far. Went to a local restaurant for dinner. Schnitzel and mushrooms. I love German food! We had an early departure on Thursday, so it was an early night in.

Got to the plane and the German "FAA" was waiting for us. :yikes: They did an inspection on the aircraft like I have never seen before. Caused a 1.5 hour delay while they went over everything. Didn't find anything wrong, but they sure were thorough. Finally let us go, and we had an almost 9 hour flight back to Philly. Thought we were headed to the hotel, BUT NO! The company says we need to get to Windsor Locks, Ct, to pick up another trip to Frankfurt on Friday morning. Couldn't get a flight out of Philly to deadhead up, so they got us a rental car and we drove up here!! I'm getting too old for this c@#%!!!! A 4 hour drive after a 9 hour flight after the AM delays. Sorry to rant, I'm just beat.

So, tomorrow it's back to Newark to pick up another load, then back across the pond to Frankfurt. Should be back sometime Sunday. From there, who knows?

Wow - you're on the move. Yeah German food is good, but German beer is better!

So do you bring interesting gifts home for your family from all these exotic places?

I must agree 100% on the beer! In fact, we've been out doing a few "quality checks" already this afternoon,( It's 3 PM here) and so far all is well. :Beer-Chug:

When I get time, I try to pick up a few things, but usually need to keep it small, and nothing that breaks easily. You know how airlines are with baggage.

Did some walking around today. We're actually about 60 miles west of Frankfurt in the town of Morbach. Was sunny but cold this morning, just started snowing lightly a little while ago. These small towns are BEAUTIFUL!! Flowers are blooming, folks working in their gardens. It's really laid back here. Outside the hotel, they're setting up for a street party. We don't leave until noon tomorrow, so we'll have time for more quality control.
