Tomato Soup Salad Dressing
Tomato Soup Salad Dressing
Slowe's Dad brought this recipe home for her from a small diner out in the mountains when he was working out near Ruth Lake, CA (circa 1954).
Blend all together in blender, refrigerate.
1 can (10 oz) Campbells tomato soup
2 cups Wesson oil (Slowes Note: 1 cup Canola Oil)
1 cup apple cider vinegar (Slowe's Note: 1/2 cup)
1/4 cup chopped onions
8-10 Tbsp sugar (Slowe's Note: 4 Tbsp)
salt and pepper to taste
(Slowe's Note: Mom made this recipe all the time when we were little, in fact, it is the only salad dressing I ever remember having. Remember, "Ranch" wasn't invented yet! (~_~) If she was out of it, then Daddy would have his wedge of iceberg lettuce with a dollop of mayonnaise (had to be Best Foods!) and a sliced hard boiled egg on top!)
