an afterthought...pool safety for stroke survivors!...dr. rhodes over at the hbot clinic told me not to go into the pool without a life preserver jacket...i'm not quite 5 months post stroke...my friend took me to wal mart and i got one...now i do not have to worry about slipping or about my head going under the water...very very important to stay 100% safe...

SAFETY IS # 1 and a stroke victim, if lucky enough to be able to swim, should never be alone, have life guards near by, and always wear a life jacket

Your life depends on it, so go for it & enjoy your summer

Great idea, we all think of home safety, throw rugs, things in the way. safety rails and grab bars etc..

We live on 5 rural acres, can't even see my neighbors. My husband got me a cell phone and I am good about putting it in my pocket before I go outside. I have his phone numbe and my daughter's on speed dial.

I am 20 yrs. post stroke, and I'd just love it if I could be in your shoes and be allowed to swim - So you have to follow a few rules, please appreciate just the fact that you CAN go in -

P.S. Have a great summer
