It's a rainy Friday - cooling down the temps at least a little bit.....had a wonderful thunderstorm this morning early that woke me up, so I decided to stay up and watch the show until 5:30 this morning....then went back to bed and woke back up with a headache (don'tcha hate that?) So am eating cereal and halfway listening to the news.

My brother who is in the army called yesterday and took some time to really explain what is happening in the mideast and what to watch out for in the news in order to know that things are moving towards a really bad situation - he said to watch for any move that Israel might make on the Beqaa Valley - this is the heart of Hezbollah and where it makes most of its profits (from the illegal agriculture grown there) and where most of its members are stationed.....apparently before Lebanon kicked the Syrians out this is where most of their soldiers were stationed as well as they fear this as Israel's main point of invasion.

Appartently though, this area is also quite suited for wine-grape growing and their ines are well-known..... Afunny thought just hit me - you know the saying about the squeaky wheel gets the grease(usually said to someone who feels like they saren't getting any attention and that they are all alone)

It's amazing to me that such a small country and such a small areaof the world gets so much more attention for blowing themselves up than does the entire nation of Africa which has atrocious fighting going on along with drought and starvation.

Forgive the melancholy - I really loved having my girl home yesterday - even though it was as a result of a trip to the ER for her migraine....she is back with her father until Tuesday....she is such the light in my life. I wish absolutely that I had the power to give her a better world to live in.

I feel guilty sometimes that instead of being able to focus on just teaching her about the beautiful things in life, there must also be the cautionary tails and defensive indtructions so that she can survive and thrive. The double-edged sword of parenthood.

Okay, my headache is getting worse instead of better - going to go take a hot shower to see if can loosen up the neck nuscles and take some Motrin.....back later with a thought for the day
