Buenos Dias

That's pretty much the extent of my Spanish. Should have paid attention in school, might come in handy now.

My computer has been down for about a month, and I wanted to see how long I could go without it. It's truly amazing how much we use these things. It was getting on my nerves when I needed to check on something, or do something with my company and I wasn't able to do it.

Sam has done real well in the past few weeks. She's back in PT, and we have new exercises to work some different muscles. She's got lot's of strength, it's just the balance problem that's keeping her from using a walker. With the hot weather, we head out to the lake every day that I'm home and swim. In the water she can do a lot more stretching and moving that is very difficult for her at home. I added a couple straps to a life jacket to keep it from riding up over her head, and use 3 foam "noodles" to help her stay upright. During her in-patient PT, they had "float coats" that fit like a sleeveles shirt. Those are more comfortable, but they run about $300. My home-made rig is @ $30 (including noodles!). If you have the ability to get to a pool, talk to your therapist about exercises that can be done in the water. Lot's of pools have HC access, and you can talk to the folks there about any special rules they might have. It seems to work, it's fun, and it just plain feels good.

I've been running around Mexico, Costa Rica, and Central America for the last several weeks. Lot's of work, but work is good. At least my mortgage company seems to think so. I've never been down in that area before, so I was amazed at how beautiful the countryside is. Big hills, huge forests, friendly people. I hope I keep doing this. Stopped in Guatemala the other day and "Mario the coffee guy" was there to meet us. He grows, roasts, and sells fresh coffee that he sells to the flight crews. The 3 of us bought 40 pounds from him. Sort of a neat thing to go home and say to your friends, "Ran out of coffee the other day so we went to Guatemala to get some from the farmer". One of the crews went out to his farm a few weeks ago during a delay and saw his place. Guy got a picture of himself in a big straw hat, carrying a burlap bag, and standing in the field wearing his pilot suit. It's going to come in handy when contract time comes around. "Crews supplement income by picking coffee during Central American layovers"

That's about all I have to say about that. Have to run through the site and see what's been going on for the past few weeks. Adios!!

:Clap-Hands: You and Sam are doing great, and if you are her caregiver, a special congrats to you :Clap-Hands:

I am a 20 year survivor, and know how important a good caregiver is

You have a great idea about swimming, and it's amazing how much you can save by doing it yourself
