hi...i must say how grateful i am for my new pt guy...he really works me hard but the progress feels wonderful...he does it all...scapula/shoulder work, arm strengthening...leg work...i feel stronger and i can see improved movement and control...it's slow of course but i am more hopeful now of a good recovery!...

i'm headed for an angiogram soon which isn't something i'm looking forward to but it needs to be done...if there are partial occlusions in my coronary arteries they need to be dealt with to provide optimal flow to my heart tissues...i'm counting on help from all my stem cells to improve function also!

last week i drove up to vermont with a friend to leaf peep...we picked apples!...god that felt wonderful to be able to do that!

someone from stroke connection magazine contacted me thru a mutual friend to write an article about my stem cell treatment in kiev...

best to all, rich in nyc

Good to hear the PT is going so well. I had a great PT also, I think it is important to have a good connection, and someone who is working with you and your goals.

Hoping the angiogram looks good.

Our apple trees are still pretty young, but a couple weeks ago I picked some apples and made 3 pies... I was exhausted after, but felt so good tobe able to do it... The neighbor above us was delighted to get a warm apple pie..lol

Hello Rich

Hope all is well. I am glad to note that your progress and also that you found a good PT.

Based on all of your experiences so far on stem cell therapy, have you formed any opinion on stem cell therapy? If yes, could you please elaborate on your thoughts. Best regards, Pavan

hi pavan...i really have nothing new to add about my opinion on stem cell therapy that i haven't already expressed in my blogging...i believe it's THE only effective medical treatment post stroke...more research has to be done on how the cells can be applied for maximum improvement...ie, introducing the cells directly into the brain (affected area), etc....but i have no doubt that stem cell therapy is where it's at for neurological rehab cases not only ours but for ms, parkinson's, altzheimer's, the list goes on and on...i enthusiastically support research and development so more and more people who suffer can be helped...

michael j fox knows what i'm talking about...and vice versa...same goes for nancy reagen and christopher reeve when he was alive...we are decades behind the russians and germans in this critical area of health care...the average md in this country can't utter two intelligent sentences about stem cell therapy...god knows they are busy enough doing what they do but i still have to laugh out loud when i think of the fact that i had to leave manhattan to get treated in a second world country to receive this wonderful therapy!...i can't wait to go back for round two in march '07...for sure there is a lot of info to sift thru on the net when trying to obtain valid facts about stem cell therapy...but keep looking to educate yourself...it's critical for all of us...and my advice in too many cases is to look past your md...the md's in kiev have been treating PEOPLE with stem cells for 20 years now...they are way past rats and mice...wouldn't you imagine that this reality should pique the interest of at least some md's in our country??
