A new week

cheer mama

Well, I survived my dear husband's business trip and we both agreed that it was too long. I haven't had full week of full time Mom duty in a long time. It was a tough week for my youngest as she turned 18 while my dh was out of town. She wants to have a big party and we looked at the calendar and couldn't find a free Saturday until the end of March (because it is competition season for cheerleading). My daughter also needed to finish her art piece for the rodeo auction. It was hard to keep her on task all weekend. We only had one meltdown though. It is a juried ( pre-judged ) competition. She did extremely well but was not forwarded to the auction. The art auction at the rodeo is similar to the way kids raise and sell their animals for 4h or ffa at county fairs. The best pieces are auctioned and the students get a percentage of the purchase price as a cash prize. The kids usually use this money for college. Oh well, She will just have to apply for more scholarships as I can no longer work to pay for her tuition. My son is still in love, she goes back to college in New York this week. Yay! Everthing else around here is the same. What will I do for entertainment when the kids move out?

I can't wait for spring, more cold rain today. I know it isn't as bad as the snow we had back in New Jersey, but I miss my hot sunny weather. Good thing I have several books to read. Maybe I should read the next book for the bookclub.

Hey Marden:

I think since your kids are all moving to east coast, maybe it's time to move back up here, its not that cold anymore with global warming.

I will be so delighted when you join our book club, it will be fun, My heart warms up when you talk about young love for your son, those were some days, I used to wonder why people remember those young days with that longing feelings, during those days you don't have care of whole world, and world is beautiful place, I guess when you get married, have children that's when real life tragedy begins :D, though it's fun, but it can not compete with yours teens, 20s
