This has been a terrible week for George and Me. I had the grandkids over the weekend and my oldest grandson, Mayson, had the stomach virus the previous week but was over it (or so it seemed) I went to Chattanooga and brought them back home with me Saturday. Mayson had a skating birthday party so we roller skated Saturday and came home later that day after his basketball game. It was a great day. Sunday evening my daughter came and spent the night and Monday took the boys home with her and my granddaughter. Monday morning she called and said Harbor, the youngest grandson was throwing up all night and he had gotten the stomach virus. Well, Wednesday morning I woke up to it and had it all day and yesterday George got it so It has run it's gamit. George was sick all day yesterday and I had to work too so you can guess it was up and down all day taking care of him. On Wednesday I had to call our caregiver, Frankie, to see if she could come over and take care of George because I couldn't get out of bed myself. Poor Georgie, he is congested too and had a small fever last night. He finally ate a piece of toast this morning but that was it. Luckily he will drink Gatorade or 7 up so he won't get dehydrated. And the doctor said he could take the Fenagren and Imodium that she prescribed to me too so that helped after a while. We are just taking it easy todoay and resting. I did go out and work in the yard a little pulling weeds just to get out of the house.

My Dad is caregiver to my Mom who had a couple of semi mild strokes in the past. She had been inthe hospital recently for about 12 weeks due to a fall and pnuemonia that followed. She was on a ventilator and finally came home. He was able tohire his next door neighbor to help caregive too. My Dad is an amazing man, he is 80 years old, works 4 nights a week driving a truck for the newspaper delivering papers to the carriers, plays golf two days a week and bowls 1 night a week plus taking care of Mom. He takes good care of himself too. He and I have really bonded with our caregiving over the past 8 months. He does real well getting out of the house and taking care of himself where I am having trouble doing that for me. I need to start taking care of myself, exercising and eating better and starting to have somewhat of a normal life or I feel like I am withering away. It is so hard to balance caregiving and living, together and feel like you are taking the best care of your spouse and also allowing some time for yourself. My husband is maximum assist and incontinent totally so he requires total care. He goes to rehab outpatient but he seems to have plateaued out. I hope and pray that he will get somewhat better over time but it doesn't seem like he is doing much better. Somedays I feel like I am just so alone but when I read the other caregiver and survivor blogs and posts I don't feel so alone. I have a good FAITH too but I have not taken the time for my faith lately either. Luckily, I do have some very good friends and I have my parents, daughter and sister but none of my family lives close by, just friends. I thought about moving closer to my daughter in Chattanooga but I just like where I live and we are only an hour and a half away so we see each other pretty often. And her husband is a golf pro so likely they will move again and I would be stuck in Chatt. I have lived her for 26 years and love this town and my friends too.

Well, I will sign off for now.
