It works!

Thanks to everyone who wished me well. I'm so happy. This morning I got my special plate and on the way home said "yes" really loud and clear for the first time in 2 years. I used to resort to "yeah" as the "s" sound was so hit and miss, mostly miss! Not a magic wand instant cure but much louder, the doctor couldn't hear me before but can now. "S" sound is so easy now it's virtually effortless. Vast improvement. Oooh doing my speech exercises as I write, first time with the device, much louder, clearer and easier, makes me WANT to talk. I can hear such a marked difference, this is better than I ever thought it would be. I am so grateful to the wonderful speech therapist who suggested trying it; must write and thank her later. When Ross left for work I was able to say "bye" clearly and loud enough to actually hear! Makes mental note to practice my nagging phrases, said "shut up" clear and made myself giggle. Can see I'll be like a young child who finds some words simply hysterical. Can remember our boys at that annoying stage where the addition of "b*m" to anything makes it the best joke you heard all year. Told one he mustn't say "lastic" and that cured him, Mum's clever idea as of course he triumphantly said it all the time instead of those undesirable words.

Oh well, bye for now, off to practice talking!

Fantastic! Enjoy your new "toy!" I bet Ross will wallow in your new vocabulary. You think up all the words you wish and spit them out! You go! I am so glad for you. Take Care. LK
