The pain clinic my neurologist referred me to has an application process. It seems that this pain clinic has so many referrals that they can pick and choose their patients. I mailed in my application packet, all 8 pages completed, the end of December. I have been calling monthly to check on the progress. The response is always 'we are waiting on a copy of your patient chart from so and so clinic'. The next month I call and this time they are waiting on a different clinic, My call last week they were supposedly waiting on one last and final chart. I called the clinic and pleaded with them to send it over. Now I am waiting on the social worker to review my case. Please continue to pray that I am accepted and SOON!

I have been going to PT twice a week to help my pain until I can start the pain clinic. Well, I am down to 2 visit left. I am going to talk with my PT tomorrow to see if he thinks I can get more visits approved by my insurance. The PT does help make the headaches better. Hopefully I can get enough to get me until my appt. at the pain clinic.

My neurologist also switched me from Depakote to Neurontin. This has helped with my headaches because most of my headaches seem to be along my surgical scar. My neurologist thinks I might have nerve trouble there the rest of my life. I want to learn different ways of helping reduce/control the pain without taking medication. I have been taking way too much of it!

I have continued to reduce my volunteer hours. This has been a blessing for me. My headaches have been waking me in the middle of the night. Then I can't get back to sleep. I usually wake the kids up and get them off to the bus and then go back for more sleep. I have started to schedule my volunteer hours for the afternoon in case I need the sleep!

I am learning to better take care of myself. This helps me to better be a Mom and Wife. These are the most important to me. Sometimes you need to be hit with a brick to see the truth!
