So, last night I dropped into the Support Chat room. I have been dropping in on these rooms lately just to see what goes on. I tell you, it dizzying! A one point there were probably four separate conversations going on and I had to backtrack and skip over lines simply to follow along. It

Hi Wes,

The membership ranks change with the number of posts you have on the message board.

If you enter chat and click on actions, you can select page separator or even double spacing between member's lines of text. It helps tremendously. Also, if people are going to fast, ask them to slow down. We were all new to chat at one point as well, so understand that it can be mind boggling to our already damaged brains. Just so you know, afternoon chats tend to be quieter than the evening ones.

You'll be a pro in no time.

How cool you've got most of your family here as well  Now that IS family support.

I went back to work too soon - your brain truly needs the rest to recover from the assault so don't pressure yourself to wake earlier. I feel as though that, since I did that, it didn't help me recover.

I wish you the best. Having support on here is wonderful - great for you!

Wes:

you have great family & they all love you so much. I am happy that you can start going full time & have great boss. I went part time for a few months & then decided to quit since for me driving 75 miles on highway was too much of a risk since I do have minor vision loss. I felt if I won't be able to perform then I will be first to get layoff & loose my disability benefits. so for me stay at home mom path who volunteers at drop of hat works best since my kido is still very young.

I am sure if you try chat few times you will be pro

Wes I dropped in on an evening Chat and was so over whelmed in tring to keep up ** sigh** So I keep thinking well if at first you dont succeed but I gave not been back. I dont want to hold up the show Tell you what I will do I will try chat out if you will again at least that way I wont have to face the embarrasment alone. To think I used to wp at over 120 wpm error free. I think I might do a small sentence now and this is after two years of working it. I still cannot write my signature!! It was beautiful if I do say to myself. Its gone and I am starting to accept that now. You have such wonderful family support. Wow!!

I guess next week when you see the doc will tell the tale. If he says you can drive then you can either start working full time or add an extra hour or two a day and work up to it. But just to be thinking about it is tremendous progress. As for World of Warcraft... no one can compete with that. If we want to see him, we have to feed him.

Poor John, He is going to have to sign up here too...just to defend himself! He cares very deeply about everyone...just has a different way to unwind. He is on line often with his older son too!

Next week should be a good one for you. Seems all the reports you have gotten from the first week post stroke have all been positive so why should next week be any different. I know it will mean a lot to you to be able to contribute full time. That 5:00 AM thing though, is the kicker!

Later,

Love you

Mom

Wes,

There's no exam to progressively move through the "ranks" The membership tag is based on your number of posts

Here's how they are tiered http://www.strokeboard.net/index.php?autoc...DE=02&qid=4

Sorry you had a rough time in chat. It takes a bit to get used to but if you keep at it you will. What you will see also is that there really is only one conversation going on. The rest is just something said to someone else aside that can either be ignored or you can choose to join in on. Under "options" if you select "line separator" that will place a line between each speaker and make it easier to read and keep up as well. Keep trying, you'll get the hang of it.

We are a family here on Strokenet. It's very cool that you brought your own too. We usually only get to hear about people's families, this is nice that actually get to meet them :friends:

Will they feed us? always a big one around here

Maria
