Kyle's mom busy with the media these days

Hi everyone

I just wanted to let you al know that I saw Kyle on Thursday and he said hello to me. Very softly but the words are beginning to come. Kyle was attending a press conference with his parents. The subject of the conference was of course the need for an acute stroke center in our province.

Kyle's mom Darlene spoke to the gathering while Kyle's dad Garth stood behind her in support. Kyle looked on from his wheel chair.

The conference was highlighted on our local CBC TV and Radio news and Kyle's parents were interviewed for a feature on the CBC supper hour newscast "Compass".

Here are some of the releases that have appeared over the past couple of days.

Thank you Gary,

It's encouraging to see work being actively done to increase stroke rehabilitation. Kyle's and his parent's dedication towards being involved with improvents is terrific. Hope all comes to pass as planned,

Thanks for posting Gary. We are lucky in the area I live in that we have had a special rehabilitation unit for stroke survivors. Alas that has just closed and the beds "moved" to another hospital. Unfortunately that has scattered the wonderful team that served survivors there. Government economies seem to result in such closures.

I have heart-felt sympathy for Darlene Jay balancing the needs of Kyle and his 14 year old brother. We don't realise the strain on the siblings of those young people who are now disabled and need a lot of care, do we? Do you have foundations who do gifts or grant wishes for those in such a family situation? We do but the beneficiaries are a select few, rather than all those who need it.

Tell Darlene that we are praying for her family, we may be a whole world away but prayer stretches that far.

Sue.
