I READ A NEW MEMBERS INTRO AND SHE HAS SO MANY DEFICITS FROM HER STROKE BUT SHE STILL HAD FAITH IN GOD AND A POSITIVE HEAD AND I THINK, WHERES MINE. , FAITH , MY POSITIVE THINKING?I ALWAYS THOUGHT I WAS A POSITIVE THINKER AND YEA I QUESTIONED MY FAITH. BUT SINCE THE STROKE MY EMOTIONS ARE STILL ALL OVER THE PLACE. THE GRIEF, DEPRESSION, THE WHY ME S THE BARGAINING STILL! LIFE JUST ISN T FAIR. I TRIED READING THE BIBLE OR A BOOK OF PRAYERS BUT I LOSE INTEREST. I ALSO SAY MY PRAYERS EVERYNITE..PRAYER FOR THE PEOPLE AMD FRIENDS I LOVE, THE STROKNET, AND IM THANKFUL I CAN WALK, TALK, ETC.. BUT WHERE IS MY FAITH?I QUESTIONED PRE STROKE AND NOW IM REALLY QUESTIONING IT POST STROKE!! MAYBE I HAVE A HARD TIME SINCE I CANNOT SEE HIM!OR MAYBE IM TRYING TO HARD AND IT WILL COME TO ME!AND MAYBE ITS HARD TO HAVE FAITH WHEN YOU DON T FEEL GOOD OR FEEL LIKE YOU DID PRE STROKE!MAYBE I REALLY NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT IT BEFORE AND JUST LOVED AND ENJOYED LIVING!!BUT NOW I NEED FAITH AND POSITIVE THINKING TO GET ME THROUGH THIS!!SO ILL CONTINUE TO PRAY AND BE THANKFUL AND ILL KEEP LOOKING FOR MY FAITH AND HOPEFULLY I WILL FIND IT !!!!

hey Patty:

I am quite spiritual person, but in the begining months right after my stroke my depression or thoughts never allowed me to look at positives in my life. pressure used to get built up in me to think of anything positive. dor me antidepressant did take the edge off & I started reading some of the good books like path through suffering, ripple effect & also blogging here was the first few steps I took to accept newme and embrace my new life.
