The Meaning Of Christmas To Me

The Meaning of Christmas

Far away in Bethlehem, a Baby Boy was born; Born with neither riches nor with fame, Yet Wise Men came from all around to bring to Him their gifts, And peace was felt by all who heard His name.

Angels watched Him as He slept, and gently rocked His bed;

Their voices singing softly in His ear;

His Mother and His Father both gave thanks to God above

For the greatest gift of all, their Son, so dear

They knew His life upon this earth would not be filled with wealth,

They also knew He would encounter strife;

But most of all, they knew that He would be a loving Child,

And teach the love of God throughout His life.

At Christmas, as we celebrate this Birth of Jesus Christ,

Let's keep in mind the truth of Christmas Day;

For it's not the Christmas wrappings, nor the gifts that lie within,

But our gift of love to others in every way...

This was sent from my friend, we share the same feeling about Christmas. For me, I believe in Santa for every kid in the world and toys for tots. It's the teachings about the love of God that I keep him the head of my life as taught by my dear deceased mother, bless her soul.

It's my wish that each member have a Joyous Christmas or a good get together this year with family and friends.

Please think of the soldiers away from families and homeland while they are defending our freedom to live and rejoice in peace this Christmas.

Peace on earth, goodwill toward men! :D :santa: :ChristmasTree: :bell:

I'm pleased that you used it Fred. I discovered it on a website; the author's name was not listed. Rather than sending e-cards, this touched my heart when I discovered it.

Merry Christmas one and all.

Donna, it touched me the same way. I showed it to my wife and she said put it in a blog. So many thanks and a Merry Christmas & Happy 2010. :santa: :ChristmasTree: :reigndeer: :santasmiley: :bell:

I bought my own bicycle at age 10 by picking cotton, after that year my uncles gave me presents at Christmas every year. So I had new clothes to wear to school. No toys. I kept that bike until I joined the Army at 17 after finishing school with nothing else to do and no money for college.

Thank you Fred for sharing and reminding us of the true meaning of the season.

John and I were Christmas shopping and as she completed the sale the girl said Have a happy holiday.

John politely said..No, it's merry Christmas See all these people on line? they're not holiday shopping

they're Christmas shopping.

He left it at that but I'm sure she got the point although quite likely told to say it.

If we keep allowing Christ to be removed and Christmas to be turned in to just another holiday

we will surely lose the spirit and message of its greatest gift.

Have a blessed and merry Christmas Fred.

Fred, thank you for sharing.

You have been such a wonderful friend to me on Stroke Net. I love your words of wisdom and take on life in general. Hope you enjoy the season with your wife and family. I always think and pray for our soliders due to you.

Hey, stay with me as I begin chemo on January 7. The fear of the unknown is there but it is something I definitely have to do.

Thanks to my online family, what a blessing we all share being here among friends, survivors and care givers alike. May we all rejoice in his name!
