The article states Tootie is autistic and cannot speak; now to clarify, Tootie isn't autistic but she is non-verbal. She does have left-side weakness from the 3 strokes but she is able to walk; she's just unable to walk long distances and must be watched at all times.

Thank you for these articles. I have sent one on to a friend of mine who has an autistic grandson. Of course in Australia we are way west of Texas (lol) but we have the same problems and may be able to set up similar programs I hope.

 

Miss Tootie is still one special girl.

She looks happy and safe.

Looks like a great program with children she'll do well communicating with through her warm, sweet heart.

So happy to see her in a place she'll be treated well and flourish.
