    Thank You

    great blog Bonnie...
  2. hi Jean: So happy to hear Don is doing well and is home... Now you must take care of yourself and let the others do what they seem to think they have to in order to help Don recover.. Time will go fast enough and then you will be back to doing everything that you had formerly been capable of performing quite successfully.. You know in your heart that you have done an excellent job, so let go for a while and go with the flow...try and relax.. Don will be able to help you along the way and all will be back to the same old with you back at the stern, manning the ship as you go through the journeys of life..

    renovating 101

one more attempt to re enforce instructions as I think I have left this too long... Now that fall is here and the weather is not as nice outside one wants to stay home a bit more and deal with the more inside stuff... Still lots to do before snow flies but may have more time to blog as I really enjoy everyone else's news...after a day of fencing with hubby I am pretty exhausted and it is time for bed, so have written down the instructions again and just have to keep at it till I can succeed . I think I was doing something more than I needed ..another attempt I saw the one went through

    much better day

We had a much better day than the last two days.. Seems hubby's' blood pressure was quite elevated which caused him a very bad headache and terrible frame of mind... very hard to deal with one who is unable to please.. Today like a different person,,more like the guy I married. :cheer: : :laughbounce: :cheer: :cloud9: We worked together all day and it was like old times , so must check the pressure more often.. Hope this goes through..tired again still renovating...

  6. Glad you're OK and back in the saddle.. Quite a scare, allergies are no fun. I'm allergic to Xmas oranges and have to be careful of how many I eat... Cause I just love them, but my tongue and lips swell up so I have to be careful how many I eat.. I use Loratidine which seems to work..I take that daily for my itch due to my blood disorder.. I also take Glucosamine From Melaluca which doesn't seem to have the cellulose that the cheaper ones do..I also take omega three oil capsules..

    My goings on

Hey guys I use a timer and sticky notes all the time and I never had a stroke.. I live by notes to me for the next day and have a note pad and pen by my bed so I can jot down my morning plans for the next day in case I remember something in mean time. About me I have been busy tryinhg to get our life back to some sort of order as it was before hubby's stroke and am going to try and blog at least once a week... Have to remember how... :happydance: :bouncing_off_wall: :laughbounce:
  8. Jean great to hear that you and Don are doing well. I thought of you many a time and wondered how it was going. I too hate to be looked after and would rather it be the other way around..You never know how this will help Don and you, You'll probably be the cleanest old people in your town after so many trips to the pool..lol...I really missed your blogs,, I must blog when I get more time, still busy with hubby and trying to get our lives back to a more normal kind of living AND it is really still improving...so maybe there's hope for Don, I'll keep him in my prayers... take care and don't do too much deenie
  9. Nice to see you back. I'm glad that Ray had such a nice birthday.. When I hear you speak of spring it makes me realize that winter is coming soon and I do not like a lot of the cold stormy days.. Least of all shoveling the snow.. Think we may try and go away for a time after Xmas... but will see how things go here in the health dept.. talk to you soon on chat...
  10. blessed are they who hunger and thirst for they are following their diet... thought it was a bit funny and might give you a chuckle... good luck with Brandon and hubby...
  11. Glad you got moved I just hate the thought of moving especially since one acquires so much stuff in their life time.. a lot of it which we will never need and won't miss till we throw it out or give it away.. I just wish it would sort itself and then we could pick and choose where to put it.. most of it can go to more needy folks..hope to do that soon before I get too old and can't do it any more..Times a wasting...
  12. Doug there should be a vacuum seal on the side of the package just press that and it will release the pressure and not explode... that's what they do here to sell their coffee at a discount in the wholesale store..It just means it's very fresh!! Now add some cinnamon and a bit of nutmeg if you like, also some sugar to taste and instant coffee whitener or the real thing" cream".. I call it fireside coffee, it would be good cold... Let me know how you like it...
  13. Oh Phyllis just keep on playing.. I too love the sound of the piano..I think it would be good therapy for you and who cares if it's not perfect... good luck with you new endevor... you go girl
  14. congrats on your new grandchild...sounds like yours will be a busy place for the next while.. but a good kind of busy..I had twin granddaughters and a two year old in our city for five years, so got to know them fairly well.. The daughter in laws attitude changes when they realize that they can't do everything and we just want be there for them , they soon realize that we raised their husband and he did ok so they learn to trust you and relax . So enjoy them they're only little for a short time...

glad you are getting back to your old life.. It's fun to get back to all the old haunts and try to relive the past.. We too are attempting to get back on the road and enjoy some of the beautiful areas we have here... We travelled extensively before the stroke five years ago..right across Canada and a good part to the USA.. camping a lot of the time...How I miss it and all the peace of mind, as hubby could fix anything or figure out where to get it done now that's part of my job... July 1st. hope to go to the lake and hang out with the kids.. but it is two hrs away so we will be kind of drained when we get home..no more beach bunnies here....not like my grand children,, I tease them I'm going bring some fabric from home so they can cover up as their swim suits are quite skimpy.. and they just laugh..Oh Grandma... should have fun...
  19. There is a poem ... When tommorow starts without me and I'm not here to see...angel came and called my name and took me be the hand, and said my place was ready in heaven up above...so when tommorow starts without me remember I'm right here in your heart...... I left out quite a bit of the poem but thought this might be comforting...

    quiet day

happy belated birthday...we got back from our trip to BC. on tuesday with one terrible flu, couldn't hold anything in my stomach for three days.., no energy or desire to even unpack the suitcases. Couldn't manage two in one day.. We think we may have gotten a bit of food poisoning, as we had fish with tarter sauce, and hubby was really sick with the runs for a couple of days.. May have been the tarter sauce as they leave it out all day and it contains mayo, so not the best thing to do..and to eat..We went to my granddaughter's fist communion in Calgary and then on to Kelowna to visit with Mom who is now in a nursing home as she can not walk due to her hip coming and bones deteriorating. She is not very happy now and makes no attempt to be nice..so packed up some of her stuff and then went out to the house boat for a couple of days ... nice but not for long.. Encounted quite a storm on the way home .. but I guess were lucky to have avoided the brunt of it.. must start to blog again till then hope to get some of the blogs read, summer is such a busy time...again happy belated birthday deenie
  22. Sue I 'm so happy to hear that Ray is walking. It will probably be slow for a while but with his determination and your help I'm certain he will come along and still have a better quality of life than before.. Today hubby and I dug out an apple tree that the deer stripped over winter and killed and then this afternoon we dug out a small blue spruce and transplanted it to another area in the garden.. I was so proud of his accomplishments.. We hope to finish the yard this year as it has been five years post stoke since we could do much.. He has a hard time understanding what I want him to do and thinks I am bossing him when I try to help so it creates some problems of communication..

    The Wonder of Life

Wouldn't it be nice to build a condo that fast... Just think the prices would be a lot lower if we could use recycled material like that. I guess we should be looking at the birds for the answers to how to save the universe. My hubby and I used to build a house in three months and move in, sometimes minus a few of the conveniences which took a while to install as there was always more pressing things on the agenda.. Like no kitchen cupboards and no kitchen sink even the back door was missing once.. We even had to live on plywood many a time before the floor covering was installed.. All in all it has been an interesting life of construction and I wouldn't trade it for anything else.. It is so hard now as my once very talented man is now unable to do the designing he could before his stroke ... But God willing, things seem to be coming back and he is now able to do a bit more and has a bit more energy... I also have a lot less energy so I guess time is catching up to us for all the hard work we did [actually workaholics] Three o'clock in the morning kids... nice and quiet a that time of nite/// Must have been nuts
