Had surgery - red, white & blue for the 4th!

Hello all. I finally had my skin cancer surgery on my nose and it was successful, but not much fun. Before I left, Larry gave me a hug and said "I have been praying all week for you". :) The biopsies (5) were done Wednesday with the skin cancer doc. I was there for about 6 hrs. Thursday I went to the plastic surgeon for reconstructive surgery. Everything went well, according to the doctors, but I am red, white, and getting bluer around the eyes. :yikes: I took a pain pill when I got home and got really sick with vomiting and diahrea. I finally started to feel better yesterday where I could finally eat. I didn't expect this much trauma as I never had/or want to have any facial surgery. This was a time where the caregiver had to have a caregiver, and I was prepared for that. I had the kids take me to the doctors and Larry's caregiver stayed with him. Larry didn't know what to think when I came home Thursday, with no bandage, but with the reconstructed part on my nose, swelling and oozing galore. He just stared at me! I think he felt helpless but was glad I had others to help me. This morning my eyes looked little worse. I said "well Larry, what do you think of your blushing bride now?" He said "I just feel sorry for you Julie".

It's time for me to put on my frozen peas pack. Hope you all have a Happy 4th. :cocktail:

Julie

The ole doctor wanted to insure he got it all and if any fragments were left you vomit and diarrhea them out your system for sure! :Clap-Hands:

Now get you a strong shot of whiskey on the 4th and you'll be good for a whole year. Give Larry a small shot too and he'll make love to you like old times. :happydance:

Julie: good girl. I am glad that is now past you and a bit of rest and relaxation, and of course the pea pack, you'll be like new. Mind your p's and q's-no need to tempt infection.

Enjoy the holiday. Thanks for letting us know. Good week, Debbie

Julie, so glad it all went well. Sorry you are so multicoloured but all that will gradually fade and you will be a beauty once more. I am glad Larry appreciates you and is able to put that into words.

I am pleased it was all a success.

Sue.

Thanks for the chuckles Fred. No whiskey or fireworks here but I'll have a glass of wine as soon as I can. :cocktail: Larry will be glad to get the old Julie back.
