I have a project for Larry
We have been dealing with frigid temps off and on. The frigid temps usually occur when we have to get a blood draw, go to exercise or church. The warmer temps are on days when we can do nothing or don't have plans for anything.
Larry had his blood work done again to determine if there was something causing his lack of appetite and weight loss. Everything came back normal except his glucose was a little over. The Dr. said to cut back on second helpings pasta, rice, and nothing after 7 p.m. (reduce starches) Well he doesn't usually eat much, and the sugar is in the "Boost" drink and milk and ice cream. All of which he eats everyday. He drinks only milk. The other day, I gave him one of his chocolate covered cherries and he couged for 1/2 hr. Needless to say, he won't be eating those anymore. He wasn't even wanting them much. I give up! The doc did suggest walking for 30 min. 3-4 times a week. (Like that is going to happen!) I sent the Dr. a list of what he eats every day and calories per item. His calorie intake is good for his height and weight. The Dr. hasn't said anything about this however and no other suggestions.
Getting back to the project. I asked Larry if he would be interested in putting some of his family pictures in an album. He said "yes". I went to the basement to get a box of his things and found a lot of stuff we had not gone through lately. These were his family pics from his 1st marriage, papers and photos from his mother's family, and a few things of his dad. His dad died in the Battle of the Bulge when Larry was just a year old. He received a Purple Heart, which we have. I also found his college diplomas and his thesis paperwork and slides for his master's and PhD. I need to sort through this and store it better. His kids may or may not want it later but that is up to them.
Anyway, I think Larry can put an album together as he can just stick the photos in an album. I may have to help him trimming. When I was into scrapbooking I made a "Memory Album" for both of my kids and they seemed to really appreciate it. My kids will have a lot of photos to go through as I was always the one with the camera. I have a lot of photo albums of vacations also.
I also am going to try to get some of these home projects started. The doorbell doesn't work, fan switch, etc. I also want new lighting in family room. I couldn't even think of these things before.
I still volunteer once a week but only when Jim is here. I can leave Larry alone for up to one hour but I am afraid to do it for longer. He also fears my staying out too long. Although he is mobile with his cane, there is always that one little trip that can happen.
I finally got into chat with Kimmie's help. I hope this blog does not disappear. lol There are still some glitches but I am thankful to Steve Mallory for working so hard on this. :goodjob:
