Birthday dinner went well

Dave did invite more people but I expected he would so I made too much on purpose--it worked out fine and Miss Mary Jo helped me a little so that was good. We both laughed when she dropped her arms and said "I'm exhausted! All I did was frost this cake!" I said, "Whew, I feel better-- You're as pathetic as I am!" we both giggled but we got done.

Kelly has an itty-bitty dog she loves to pieces and has felt bad because she hasn't felt up to walking her, and you'd think she was asking her kids (9 and 14) to chop their legs off to ask them to walk the dog so I got her leash and took her out. All that work for the dinner and cake and she was more touched that I took the dog for a walk. My friends are as weird as I am.

Dinner was an absolute success and we had three cakes--which annoys me and I'm not going to go into it but I really wanted a night where she didn't have to deal with their griping. The cakes for the kids were boxed mixes and canned frosting and their grandmother frosted them for me so that was good but it was a peaceful and relaxing night for Kelly and that was my mission. I can kill her kids later--j/k.

I was toast when it was all over but everything worked out just like I hoped it would.

GREAT! And the rest is history but perhaps next year with your kind heart you would do it all over again??

Would that little dog be a shih tzu by chance??? I got one here with me all day until my granddaughter gets in from school! I've learned to love her dearly and she is true companionship for a 7 year old! She put her head on my shoes by my bed so I can't leave her alone!

Yes, I'm sure I would.

Believe it or not, the dog is a long-haired chihuahua /jack Russell mix--but looks only like a chihuahua. She's a loving little thing but I under-estimated her strength on that leash. The little ankle biter took ME

for a walk!

LOL you're so easy... what kind of cake?

I am the Will Rogers of baked goods. I never met a cake I didn't like.

Moist and abundant icing is a plus.

I'm pretty much a cake voyeur these days since I've been trying to get back on the righteous path of healthy eating, after gaining 20 pounds this past winter : ( So, the only cake I can trust in the house is a 60 calorie single serve microwave recipe to quell a craving.

60 calorie...One of Jamie's creations? Sorry Babe--does not compute! :)

Jaime: I agree with most. I love cake. Three would have been just perfect.

That aside, its the Italian in you. You expected three, made enough for 15! Sounds about right.

A wonderful success honey, and I am so proud of you. To accept such a task and know its importance. Good for you! After you have had some time for rest and recovery, please remember what you just did for your best friend, how proud you are and the significance to your recovery. Debbie

Thank you Debbie. What you said means a lot to me. Tonight we rested and recovered in the cosmetic isle at Walgreens picking out hair color and makeup and giggling like a couple school girls. It takes me a while to settle down about that kind of news, but it will be alright.
