Hey, that is a deal 100.00 for insurance a year! Nancy is this a class A or cab over class B at 22 foot??? Is it a Chevy engine?? I know now my current wife would settle for something small just above the size of a van but self contained. She traveled with me for two years in fact we went to Reno, NV in it when we got married there then out to Kansas and back to New Orleans, her hometown, then back to Texas! That was some trip!

I was bowling all along the way in tournaments where we stopped! I wish the best for you'll where ever you go just be safe and watch your surroundings all the time! You still got people out there who figure RVers got tons of money with them!

So many older couples have sold their homes the kids grown and gone so why keep a big house when they could be traveling and seeing the world?! HAVE FUN, you have earned it!! We have worked all our lives let's live a little and see the world!!!

it is a winnebago 1999 - rialta it has a v/w motor and chassis... it is completley self contained it is 22 ft long i'm not sure of the class.. it drives the same as a pickup or a van-- my only issue is remembering the length, but of course i just pay attention to where and how i park.... i am very comfortable with it... we had a bad rainstorm lastnight that i drove in and no issues... it is all leather the 2 seats in back fold into one full size bed .. and the bathroom can either say or be slid out to shower-- it slides on the inside... it has no outside sliding attachments....- didnt want anything that would just cause more problems to deal with.... it pretty much is exactley what i was looking for... and now the most recent entry another person made about visual anchors i know i'll need to add some pictures and familiar things for dan to get comfortable... nancyl

i am excited to move onto this part of our life a little scared, and feeling a little young --- i am 45 a little on the youngish side for this lifestyle... but it is what it is... and this is the only thing i can see that might allow us to salvage some of our lives.. the stroke keeps wanting to take -- but we arent giving it all up yet.. nancyl

Nancy: good news. I am so glad the first outing went well and you are comfortable managing it. Sounds wonderfully luxurious! And this will be a big bonus. Yes, do get some personal touches in there because I think, very soon, an overnight is in the works!

Also do some on-line investigation of camp sites. Most are really nice with picnic areas, swimming pools, outdoor showers, game rooms, walking-hiking paths. Check around close to you first and see if maybe one might be fun for an overnight.

Also honey, please consider a journal. Leave it in the Motor Home so it is handy and do journal dates, where you went, what you did. This will be a wonderful asset in remembering where you went, what worked and didn't and suggestions of what to try next.

nancy, the wife and I have considerable RV experience. fulltimed in one for three years, and now have a small class "B" 20'. A few bits of advice. read rv.net forum. there is a forum there about rv'ing with disabilities, and any other subject you are interested in. A word to the wise. Before spending a night on the road, spend a few nights in your driveway. That way, help is just a few steps away. Practice doing everything just like you were on the road. A few days of that and you will quickly learn what you need and don't need to have along, how many electrical things you can have on at once, etc. Then try a short trip maybe 20 miles or so, spend a night away, practice dumping, learn how much water you use, sleeping comfort, food prep, etc. Develop set up and take down lists. Use them! Ignore them at your peril. (don't ask me how I know this). After that, enjoy!
