dan has had massive depression for months since november---- latley he is doing better after a 3 times in one week to the ER for stomach pain... now i knew his stomach , intestines have been partially paralyzed fro some time... i did not know that the drug regelan could help with that----- it keeps the guts moving essentially... the problem with relgelan is side effect tardive dysconegia ( very bad) and seizures ( already got that going on)... since staring the regelan he has been so much better.. we also tried amitizia new laxative pill.... worked to good..... so gonna go back to the regelan, and try to balance the side effects.... lower dose, everyother day dose -- not sure yet... but it works... the real thing i learned is he couldnt tell me he had pain in that area all the time ( aphasia) but also many times he did not feel the pain due to the paralysis... he just felt like crap but didnt know why... and like all the paralyzed parts you don't feel nothing till you do feel it them WOW it hurts bad.. like when dan will hit his hand by accident - most times doesent feel a thing but other times sends him through the roof.... so i THINK i've learned something new but only time will tell. but we have been on a really good run for a while now-- attitude, mood less aphasic -trying harder at all therapies and is asking LOTS of questions.. takes a long time to work throught he aphasia but i keep pushing for the right question/ answer.... nancyl

Nancy,

I can imagine how frustrating that must be. Not being able to articulate what is wrong.

But, you are striving to find the answer. Just keep pushing forward..that is the only way to solve the problem.

Good luck,

Ruth

Nancy, when I read an earlier post in your blog, I thought of intestinal paralyisis, but thought I'd keep reading and see if you got any more ideas/info before commenting. I had met one other person online who had her intestines totally in that fix, I think she was also diabetic. She had to take things to keep them moving.
