Last night he wanted me to drive him to the store to get some smokes, I know he needs to quit but that aint happening just yet, so I did. He said I want to go in on my own and see if I can do it. I agreed but made him let me walk with him just in case. He got in the truck and out by himself. Opened the door of the store and did his business went back to the truck got in and back home up the steps and into the house all by himself! He was totally worn out but pleased with himself! I think we can do this and beat this thing! Just got to keep moving foward! He is one determined man! God I love him!

this is great, more he does this more normal he will feel & will be able to accept his new normal. at the end of the day it does not matter how job gets accomplished, what's important that it gets accomplished. & all this small gains adds up quickly & becomes great new normal.

Yeah Mike! Well not yeah about the cigs but yeah that he set out to accomplish a task by himself and was successful. That is such a big deal for us survivors and gives us the boost we need to keep trying new things and challenging ourselves. I know you were proud of him too! And I am an ex-smoker so I definitely feel his pain on that subject.

Cat: I'm not even going to go there with the cigarettes. While Bruce is all done - day one stroke, I am still smoking, so have nothing to say there.

But honey, what an incredible day! Who is more proud than Mike, except maybe you? I remember, before Bruce had his overtoning setback, the first time he did that - at a restaurant. I beamed for a week. It is so important that our dears find their sense of control, some aspect of their lives that wasn't taken totally away. Always best on the safety issue and Mike knows that. But wasn't like the old days, strolling into a store together? Concentration was on different issues, of course. but you give him a big hug and kiss for me.

Read your post about the BlueRocker. Mr. Mike is turning out to be a great advocate for all of us and thank you so much for sharing. Kudos Kid - Debbie
