The Holidays are coming!

Yikes, I cannot believe Thanksgiving is just 3 weeks away. I let my daughter (who is in Michigan) coordinate all the kids and their family's and what they will bring. There are several family members who have parents remarried and so they have to split their time. We are having our dinner on the Friday after Thanksgiving again. Christmas is still in the planning.

Larry's son, wife and our granddaughter came over yesterday for dinner. They had to pick up some boxes they had in our basement for storage. They now have a new home so they can store these in their basement. Yippee! Rachel, is 5 and started kindergarten. Her mother brought some of the work she had been doing in school. It is amazing what these kids are taught so early. I don't think my kids had homework when they were in kindergarten either. She had a good report card and does well in school. It's at home that she doesn't mind her parents. lol She is a cutie and some of the things she says are very amusing. I think she also knows how to outsmart her parents.

Our other 13 yr old granddaughter was in a play and had a starring role. We were not able to attend as it would have been too long for Larry to sit with the long drive there, + 2 hr. play. I also do not like driving at night, especially in unfamiliar areas. So, we miss out a lot on things.

This is a busy week for me especially. I have two routine health exams, voting tomorrow (Larry did the absentee voting) and I have carpet cleaners coming. I will have to figure out when to take Larry to exercise.

The weather yesterday was great again. We have a light rain today which brings down more leaves. They have been taken away or mulched three times now.

I hope everyone has a great fall and mild winter. I'm so happy Stroke Net was not affected by the storm but pray the ones who were are safe and get help.

Julie, you know at times we may not feel too good but by and large we can plan on doing things or going places being a part of the household and it does us good to get things done and not be left out with the kids being involved in activities around the home or away!

The holidays are coming whether we are ready or not and the New Year is right around the corner don't ya know!!!!

Julie: We are still awaiting Halloween here in Connecticut - LOL. Wednesday, 11/7 is the reschedule, but hey! guess what? Nor'easter due in! Poor kids.

Mary Beth will be coming for Thanksgiving - our new tradition and like you, we will do it probably on Saturday. She has to work Friday, so will come down after work. Friday night is always pizza. New Hampshire apparently only has Greek pizza and coming from the center of true pizza, that is always a treat. Bruce is looking to pay about 39 cents a pound for his turkey - LOL. A turkey for three people?

Like you, it is about family and family time. We always did it up big - again what our parents did and tried to share those traditions with the kids. Mary's husband is not much support, but went along because Bruce and I insisted. Those days are gone now. We will do a traditional dinner, Bruce will be expected to do his part and for us three, one more year together and celebrating family. For that, there is nothing better. Debbie
