Holidays!
My daughter came in last Wednesday for Thanksgivng and left yesterday. So happy her friend could pick her up as the fog was thick and visibility poor. I'm so happy she came. I finished my grocery list as the grocery stores were closed on Thursday. At least they gave their good employees that day. We had Thanksgiving on Friday as there are a lot of re-marriages in our kid's families and we have to be flexible. One of our granddaughter's has 4 grandmothers! lol The meal went well and Larry always enjoys seeing his kids and our grandkids. Larry even managed to tell a funny story about his school days. These were the days when corporal punishment was allowed. His daughter asked if he ever got the paddle, and he held up his finger and grinned "once". lol Not so now a days, you can get in trouble almost from just mentioning you spanked your own kid! Anyway, Larry stayed up one hour past his bedtime and then said he was ready. The two grandchildren put on a "Christmas play" for us. By the time they all left, my daughter and I were also "drained". As Lynn stated in her post, the cats were happy they were gone. lol My Lucy is friendly but does not like kids too well. She was hissing and growling at one point. I keep them in the bedroom for that reason most of the night.
Larry's daughter had gone shopping at midnight Thursday with her daughter and her friends. Crazy! While they were on the highway, they saw headlights headed straight toward them with the driver in the wrong lane. Luckily, his daughter veered over to the other lane and the guy kept coming. They called 911 to report him and saw a police car going after the driver. This is another reason to stay home instead of going late night shopping!
My daughter and I went shopping Saturday and got a few things off our list for the kids. We tried getting them online first.
My daughter's flight time changed 4 times Sat., but they had notified her on her cell the first time. I hate to see her going home so late. Her boyfriend was on a kayaking trip in Florida. Hopefully, the weather will cooperate for Christmas travel.
Happy shopping everyone and be safe.
Julie
