The ole one-two

Last Monday, at just about this time, I was blogging to you all that Hurricane Sandy was starting to wind down. The winds were so high and I could not go to bed. Memories from last winter, hearing limbs come down, seeing the damage. But apparently the work done in the yard and by the Utilities paid off. Still one worries but we fared well.

North Haven postponed Halloween until tonight. Power outtages, trees down and streets blocked. Now we have a Nor'easter. Welcome to weather in New England. Another October snow storm. A close friend of Bruce is a Climatologist and you can be sure I will be discussing this with him. LOL

But for right now, wind gusts back to 45-60 mph. Six inches of snow on the ground with another 3 due overnight. Again just so thankful we had the trees in the yard taken care of as best we can. I think of our landscaper, who still had not cleared leaves and tomorrow will have to be shoveling and snow-blowing. I have no clue as to whether or not I will be able to get out. I can certainly shovel the truck out and leave the rest for Paul, but can Cathy get here? And I certainly can not get Bruce out without a lot of shoveling. And again, our poor kids, who now have had no Halloween.

Bruce and I have bags set up for our 10 kids on the street and we will deliver them this weekend. Mary Beth called from New Hampshire. Nothing up there and she said it was actually mild based on the past couple of nights.

So we continue to move forward. All this time home is a positive for Bruce. He continues to work on his contractures, I am here to insist on grooming and hygiene. You make lemonade when you can, because you can't really do anything about Mother Lemon - LOL. Debbie

Debbie, all you can do is keep on keeping on. Doesn't sound as if the weather is very good for you, we finally have the first rain in weeks so hoping the brown lawn will magically turn green overnight.

I am listening for the phone as Mum is still not over the chest infection, as the nurse I spoke to today said it could go either way.

OK this is getting depressing and I guess enough of the weather talk. Sorry folks. There were people who were messaging, asking for an update.

A Nor'easter is a storm that approaches the East Coast from the North-east. It gains energy over the Atlantic Ocean making it stronger, more wide spread and more destructive. And yes, we get them all the time.

So I will message all of you in the future. Debbie
