I can't respond to blogs via my I pad. But am wondering can I write one , so this only a test. If this were an actual emergency your local television station would provide you with further instruction...teehee. This is only a test....".................... Well apparently that worked ..I can write blog just not respond to one hmmm not even my own... We are doing well Dan is still titrating down on his Dilantin, had one seizure last Friday nite.... He just grunted three or four times loud and then blinked for like thirty seconds... No loss of conscienceness, and just said that was weird....today he is tired...every time I titrate the Dilantin down fora day or two he is weird feeling and tired.....this sat we will drop off the last pill.....then off that pill.....wait two weeks and will see what his lamictal level is.....otherwise everything is going ok...well one accident so embarrassing to Dan.... He had a big BM accident at a local bar he goes to play pig wheel at...it is about the only recreation he has ..gambeling.... And for the first time he had allowed his two daughters to take him without me....now I am not sure he will ever go back... He cried he was so

embarrassed....but seems ok now, damn stomach issues either he doesn't go for weeks at a time or

Well here is a by pass trick I can still edit my own blog............ Hooray ....Dan hasn't talked about the incident since that night, thank goodness and my , if Ruth with all her knowledge and bill with all his work hasn't got it figured out ...then this is gonna be a long run......now it is day 4 no hmmm..poop...if I medicate him to move it out then ooops , here we go...but if I don't he has so much trouble.... I have had to actually evacuate him..but sometimes there is nothing there to evacuate.... Shows the paralysis of his gut so to speak....well it is always something I would hate to get bored with everyone being healthy all at the same time...... Hahaha....

Nancy,

i go thru that with william. Either consipated or ooops! Where did that come from. If I am with William then I react immediately.

But, it can happen at any time. Sort of scary.

Nancy: Merry Christmas honey. I had to work off the Nook for two weeks so know how time consuming it is.

You read the prep involved with considering stroke and planning a wedding. I argued with my sister for days. Finally just had to lay down the law.

I was speaking with Bruce's friend this past weekend. We were rehashing the wedding and he asked about the bathroom issues. I told him, at this point in recovery, the only other person Bruce would probably allow to take him to the bathroom was that friend. Bruce had his pants yanked down for 3 + years by strangers. With medications and a lot of hard work, he now has some control and is not about to give it up. And he is so proud of his accomplishments. I was not about to help him fail. When he gets confused, off schedule, accidents happen. And can you imagine at his own wedding? So I know what you are going through with Dan.

I am sure his daughters are OK with all this. Getting Dan through it is something else. Put a positive spin on it - as we always do. And next trip, you take him. Assure him that it was a fluke, it will happen again, he can't let it ruin his night. You know the drill!

He is fragile right now. With the medication changes, therapeutic blood levels and the accident, he is going to need some extra TLC. I hope with the holiday plans and diversions, he will find some way of moving on and not focussing on the other, past issues. Please do let us know - best you can. LOL. Happy Holidays, Debbie

To go or not go, that is the question. lol Seriously, this seems to be a common thread among our survivors. Larry is currently in a constipation mode. He has doubled up on stool softners, taking Miralax and now Milk of Magnesia. It seems to be working.

He had an incident last May that really shattered him. He went to a reunion of his chemical engineer retirees at a country club. We got through the meal and long stories and speeches. On the way to the car , in the parking lot he had to go - couldn't make it back inside and couldn't make it to the car, but everything stayed in tact. He was devastated. Luckily, it happened after and he later got over it. Such is the life.

Happy Holidays and best to you and Dan,

Julie

that is one thing hubby's friend don't get. I hear them saying, Bob, why don't we all go out for breakfast, like we used to. Finally, I had to be very blunt, as the hints were making it thru to them - privately, of course. I had to say something like, "I keep telling you about bathroom issues, but it's not that he has to go often, it's that he has NO CONTROL. So, if you have him out and he has to poop, are you going to take him to the toilet and do the wiping? What if you don't get him there in time, because he only knows when he has to, which usually works out to NOW, and he can't stop it."

We eat shredded wheat for breakfast, with lots of fruit, and he usually goes afterward. It is my goal that that happens before we leave here for anything!

I know how awful that had to be for him, that is why I protect Bob from it happening to him. It took him forever to just go to Bob Evans in the afternoon with me, because of his fear of bathroom problems, but he had already went that day, and finally agreed to when I told him I was too tired to make something at home, so if he wanted a meal...

PS - Nancy, got sidetracked by the big OOPS we all fear, but - glad you are able to do some stuff on your blog here. Maybe there are more tricks you'll find!
