Weird that sandys blog would be about balance and Jamie talked about it to, I can't respond to a blog, so I will chime in here... Ironically today Dan fell in the shower.. Didn't slip, just got off balance and try as he and I might we couldn't get it corrected, so he fell back into the corner luckily nothing was there except the wall and floor of the shower.... It took us a while to get him out of the predicament but we did .. He basically had to stand up from a but on floor, knees pulled up as good as we could get them and up.... Using a chair... Dan is so strong that if given the correct position ing he was able to do it...but he cried when he initially hit the floor and then we had to see if it was safe to move him, he is pretty stiff and sore .... Shortened up our visit with Sarah from here on stroke net, and the trip home his nueropathy really set in and then the compulsive driver in him got mad about blinkers AGAIN...he did eat and drink and got that spacey thing going on, just wanted to go home back to ND .. Finally explained we are tomorrow. And finally he relented and went to bed, and he kept trying to go to the garage and get in the car .. I had to explain over and over again, a taxi will pick us up... He would have camped in that darn car again....he did have a nice visit with Sarah as did I , but he was pretty weird for her.... Wasn't the real Dan... Who can be a character . But Sarah has a neighbor who has birds and walks the neighborhood with a parrot that can really talk and interact... Dan was impressed by that.....and he enjoyed sarahs dogs to,,.,so Im not sure how to prevent what happened in ref the fall, it happened when I was guiding his affected leg/ foot out of the shower, you know the wonderful lip..... I might have lifted his leg to high and unbalanced him... I have to guide the leg or his knee buckles back and his foot seems to inevitably hit something or his toe gets stubbed... Once the brace is on then he is secure and he can walk a ways with no brace providing he has his cane of course and my knee supporting his knee from the behind to prevent the backwards buckle... Well .. As we say... It is what it is, and I am hoping he can move ok in the AM so we get to the airport on time we take off at 0600. ... In the cab, the flight leaves at 0830 ... But the tsa people will need to do their thing and check in itself can be a real hassel... Nancyl
