Day 9

Hello all,

Day9 at the hospital went really well, although I was not there full time, as I had my own physical therapy for 1 hour for my AC seperated grade3 shoulder, my mom, aunt and uncle has been there with grandma. Tomorrow is day10 and grandma will be moved to her house as they say that the neurology department has done its deed. Mom bought an air-bed, a feeder machine (nutricia flocare800), arranged the ambulance to take grandma from the hospital to her house. I need to make sure her house and the bed is ready...etc...much harder days will begin as my mother steps more inside the task for her mother. Her elder sister and younger brother said they'd help as required. Having taken care of my grandmother for the last 20odd years, my mother wants to take full responsibility again, but this time it's a full time job, and me and my father(71) had warned her not to take this on her own. Of course I will be helping her out. In the last 9 days, the hospital staff was so helpful, changing my grandma's undies, turning her to one side every 2 hrs, etc... Hope we can manage the same task quality on our own.

I've seen my grandmother for 2 hrs today, and she wanted to touch my face as I approached her, she was looking more alive. I read her a book for 20 pages, I think I read it fast though, could have read it slowly...will do that in her house in the following days. I've read too many documents and watched too many videos on ischemic and hemmorage brain bleeds that I felt really tired after 2-3 hrs of reading, watching =(( I was almost giving up hope on my own...Grandma feels better each day, today she had waved to some people leaving upon an order from my mother as "mama, they are leaving, why don't you wave to them"...and she did...thumbs up...

Tomorrow is a big day! We must rest as its 11pm over here.

Healthy days to you all.

I am so glad she is doing better. I'm sure its not the subject of the book you read but your voice that made Mama feel better. Keep up the great work!!
