Mitch there is no easy way through all of this, like stroke recovery it is a process,almost  twelve months out from No 2 son's separation (his wife walked out on him) and no real progress on access etc.  so take a deep breath and just be there for your daughter and grandkids and help them to wait it all out.  Will be adding your family to my prayer list.

Please never apologize for a rant. That is when we cleanse our soul and share from the heart our deepest wounds. I can feel how much you are aching for your precious daughter and little grandsons. I know you want to protect them from this and what you worry lies ahead. It sounds like your daughter has a great support system and that she is trying to handle this situation sensibly. That is a good beginning. It is indeed a process for everyone involved. One of personal growth as change always certainly fosters. You are standing by to assist and it is truly hard to watch our children endure distress.

I hope you find comfort in watching your daughter handle this situation with all the Values you taught her.
