Bonnie & the llamas

sorry to whomever I ran out of chat on yesterday... I had just joined chat and I heard my husband yelling for me...the llamas got out AGAIN...this has been an ongoing battle for the past few weeks.. we have found them a new home and luckily the man taking them arrived shortly after we got them back in their pen...

we bought them shortly after we bought our 5 acres to help clear our land..they have done an excellent job and we have enjoyed them (mostly) except when they escape...they are fairly easy to get back in, but since I have loss of peripheral vision and am still a bit wobbly it definitely wears me out..... we have a lady from the county tell us we cannot have them within 50 feet of any area on our property that consider wetlands (wetlands ....even if it has water only 2 weeks of the year)

so we cannot move them around as we would like...

I had stroke 2 years ago and the end of November my husband was diagnosed with malignant melanoma clarks level IV (moderately invasive) we went to VA hospital since no medical insurance since I cannot return to work.....he had a wide excision removal went clear to the muscle layer...and 5 mm all around...they couldn't find the sentinel node (to find out if had spread) so he has had two cat scans..found a couple abnormal(?) findings on first, but second was good..so with health issues I said we need to find Pippi and Mocha a new home, we cannot keep up..I don't believe in just getting rid of animals..they are a commitment..but it is getting to be tooooooo much. we found them a wonderful home..a man with close to 80 acres...lots of pasture and more room than we have....we took them to their new home yesterday....John walked them into their new pasture and they were so at ease and went right to eating grass and looking around...they were not jumpy or flight...they looked like they belong...it is a beautiful place in a valley, with a mountain on one side...the man and his friend are so happy to have them..I feel better and it will take a lot of work off John..... the man said we can come visit them.....I will go back and take a picture it was so beautiful..in a big huge pasture, with trees and the hillside in the back..... they worked hard getting a fence up for them around two acres and have other areas to move them too..... I am very happy now..knowing this will take so much off John and they have a good home.

Bonnie,

Are you sure you won't miss chasing the Lama's? In a few weeks you may be bored without them to chase around.

Hi Bonnie

Sounds like a menagerie to me eh. cloud9.gif You sound like a real animal lover.

I am very happy for you that you were able to find a place that you could feel comfortable with.

BTW Maybe it would not be such a great idea to send any snakes and or ants over to Pam's (Rocky) house eh. laugh.gif
