Hubby's family reunion was today, it's held each year, my side doesn't do the reunion thing. Son was detasseling so it was just hubby and myself. It's taken 20 years to start to learn who is who and how they're related. Today, I managed to insert my foot into my mouth while talking to a cousin, Paul, I hadn't met before.... I really didn't say anything bad, just made some sort of reference to another cousin as appearing gay...turns out Paul is gay, too. So, duh, my size 9 1/2 was shoved into my mouth. Kinda awkward after that, he was cool about it, though. He never let on that he'd even heard my stupid comment.

Major lesson learned here....find out who you're talking to before making stupid remarks.
