babysitting nephew

Today, was a fun day.

I got to babysit my favorite nephew who is 2 1/2, while his Mommy went to a doc. appt.

I unfortunately had to go to my doc for a quick PT/INR lab visit. He thought he was the one going to the doc., and my one strong arm could barely keep him in my lap while the nurse took my BP. He was crying saying,"No shot", "no shot", "It's okay, It's okay".

The thing they prick my finger does not resemble a needle thank goodness. I hope my lab work wasn't too traumatizing for him. Once the nurse took off her stethoscope he was fine.

I bought him a bag of suckers, maybe that will make-up for me accidentley scaring him.

He can throw some temper tantrums!! Our dog went and got in her kennel, b/c she was sleepy. He didn't want the doggie too, so he fell down, kicked and screamed, and hit his own face! Now, it was going to look like his sweet auntie hit him while I was watching him. When he gets mad he gets very self destructive!

I grabbed the camera and took a picture of him throwing a fit in my kitchen floor for good 'ol memory sake.

**I don't remember our DD doing such dramatic fit throwing episodes. It was nap time, that could play a role in strength of fit.

Anyway I love my nephews age 2 1/2 and 1 month, but I really do love having an only child who is five and mellow/potty trained

*I hope this gets me off of moldy page 2. I disinfected this, I promise.

Oh, yes the wonderful ..terrible 2's LOL

My son threw tantrums and would bang his head on the floor..my mother of course over reacted..I would walk away and he would quit, he also would go to a throw rug (softer to bang one's head)

My daughter did not throw those kind of tantrums. And YES it is difficult to hang on to a 2 yr old .... squirming & frightened!

glad you had a fun day!!
