I am killing my ivy plants

Yes, I am going to kill my 2 Ivy plants that I planted in my front yard.

They were sweet innocent $.50 baby Ivy plants, when I first adopted them, but they had grown into monsters(out of control). No matter how hard I tried to cut them back, they grew back stronger and thicker before.

It even had started to try to climb inside our roof. They looked good before they took off growing.

My Granny warned me that one day, I would be digging the poor souls up, and that they could cause structural damage to the house. I was in denial"These cute little green ivy plants? No not my babies.. I have learned from my mistake.. My ivy plants turned into green monsters.

No more Ivy plants for our house/yard. I think we are going to need to replace our 2 brass lantern lights outside our garage where I had them planted. The lights are shot from the Ivy plants choking them to death.

*Maybe that is why I should be a professional, before I dig a hole and plant just anything into our ground?

Well I know how ivy can be, I did get some cuttings from a friend. I am trying to cover up two huge stumps in my yard. They are a long way from the house though. I also planted two holly bushes ( a male & female) have to have both to get the red berries. You must have a green thumb..

Ivy plants growing? Not for me..... maybe the weather reallly isn't right here (Florida) but they were in the house (maybe that's what is wrong.)

Right now, I'm putting off mourning the death of my Miltonia ( an orchid) that I got at the auction in the spring. It was doing so well and then one day keeled over and died. I've tried just about everything but nothing worked, even with the good roots. My state of shock is too much - it's been sitting on the counting for a few weeks now. Maybe if I put it in the freezer and wait until there's a cure.............

So if you want to kill your ivy, send it to me. roflmao.gif

Good thinking Asha. I thought, that mu hubby was going to have to borrow a chainsaw to get the twisted thick plant out, My house/yard looks so good with them down.

I should read some books or something to get more knowledge.
