Recovering from the fall
Well, Lisa had a fall last week as I said and she is feeling much better. Her back was hurting pretty bad and because of it therapy wasn't going well. They even called me and said that because she was home, we weren't working hard enough, causing her to "decline"...WTF? Sure, I might have given her a few easy days, she was sore. But, declining? That rapidly? Give me a break!!
But, her back is feeling better and our home therapy last night was one of the best sessions we have had yet. I am hoping that tomorrow when she goes for in-patient, Lisa shows them a thing or two.
New on the list of what to watch out for is Lisa was having trouble with BMs. She was just not having them. I have tried not to change her diet too drastically since she has come home. Three squares a day. It must be a slight change. Anyway, I gave her some laxative recommended by our DR. and it did the trick. Thank God!!
The recliner is working out great. I banned her from lifting it all the way up to help her stand, and we have reached a happy medium. Plus, she finds it very comfortable. Best $1000 I have spent.
An update from my self report card: Bath time is up to a B-. We have had a couple since then and they went great. I say we because I basically have to take one with her. At some point, and I think she does it on purpose, she always drops the showerhead and it sprays all over me. So I have been taking one with her. Try getting a CNA to do that!!!
Our routine is developing. You know, you're right. it does get easier.
