Countdown to the big day!
THREE MORE WEEKS!
Had a lovely time this afternoon. There was an article in the paper that the Lutheran church not to far from here was having a Christmas program of Christmas songs. The public was invited and it was a lovely program. Except for some songs, many were German songs which aren't commonly sung. There also told the story of Christmas and brought in the Holy infant. From where I was sitting (and forgetting my glasses) it looked like a doll because there wasn't a sound from this "child". It was a real baby! Quite young. After they served refreshments - wonderful baked cookies and yes many were German favorites, and I had spiced warm cider which I first learned about when doing a demo a few weeks ago.
This coming week I get to go to my Walmart's and try to straighten out the display with all of the names. I should be numbling to myself when Wednesday comes around.
But first, tomorrow is the Orchid Society Christmas Party and all who attend get a small orchid plant. It's held in the former winter home of John D. Rockefeller, which is kept as it was in the private quarters and is used for local art, cooking. photography classes, meetings etc. It is supposed to have been extensively decorsted for the holiday season.
I can almost hear the slowbells from practice runs in the Northpole (well, you can't expect to make the reindeer make that trip without warming up, can you? )
