Waiting for the other shoe to drop....

OK - we;'ve talked to the neurosurgeon about my girl - they want to do a biopsy - yay - I am totally freaked.

I thought it was bad waiting on my neuropsych and hasnd surgeon docs!!!!! But this is for my baby so it's a bit different.

Didn't do much today - took a down day because the last two have been pretty intense - and I even managed to go for a walk each day and go work out in the gym :Clap-Hands:

I cooked dinner tonight - well hamburger helper anyway

I got my Stroke survivor shirt in and some bracelets - I LOVE them!!!! Going to have to order a few more though because I will want to wear it more than one day.....we need to convince Steve to get caps with the logo on it - those would go over well I think.

Sending my DH out to golf in the morning - he needs a break since he didn't get the job that he was wanting and is now at a loss as to what to do...

I'm starting to think about what I might be able to do after the cognitivr tests get done telling me hoe dumb i am - I wonder if they'll send me back to school or something...... :uhm: will have to post that out in the forum to see what folks say..

Mel,

Lots of luck with your daughter. I'll tell you the same thing I told AJ. Neurophsych test results are nothing more then propaganda and labels. Just because someone has created a method to measure everyone doesn't mean you have become dumber. As you didn't have these tests pre stroke, what is there to compare you to? Don't let some test results limit you. Remember this, it is better to make your own path then to walk the most travelled path. You can become whomever you want, not what some test tells you. Don't buy into it.

Great hearing from you - S,S, does offer a program to retrain people to be able to get back in the workforce - Its either through them or thru Easter Seals Rehab - I'd call S.S. for info on this

GOOD LUCK, and as a mom of 4, it always hurts more, when they are the patients

GOOD LUCK, GOD BLESS

June :cheer:

Mel,

I'll continue to pray for your daughter! I hope since you aren't very far away from Indianapolis, she is being treated at Riley Childrens hospital, they have an absolutely wonderful world renowned childrens hospital, and Like Pam's wonderful post says do not put too much trust in the neuropsych test, you can still find something that you can do and live a very productive life doing it! it is all up to you on how bad you want it, and how hard are you willing to work for it.

God Bless You,

Tom
