greetings...as i've already stated, i was very disappointed that i couldn't blog daily from kiev...so now i want to share more about the clinic experience for those of you who might be apprehensive about a ukrainian facility sooooo far from home...i viewed it all as part of an adventure (travel is my passion) but it wasn't until the car was turning onto the clinic block that i started second guessing what i was doing...i had a moment of doubt until i recognized the front of the clinic from pics that peter had shared with me...the building is beautifully designed...everything...and i mean everything in the clinic is brand new...it's a v.i.p. medical spa...the bedrooms are spacious and the beds are large and firm...private bathrooms are modern and meticulously clean...there are call buttons next to the beds to signal a nurse for assistance if necessary 24/7...the staff is prepared to physically assist patients in any way they need it...the nurses were terrific with any sticks that were needed for blood tests...helpful and genuinely pleasant...best and most importantly of all the doctors were all experienced with stem cell research and application...they have been treating people in this clinic for 20 years...the head medical doctor (working in the field for 25 years) answered all of my questions...i was left with a feeling of reassurance that these were the experts in this area...i received massage therapy just about every day along with e-stim and acupuncture...also my friend and i received facials with placenta cell masks by a cosmotologist...the most important thing for me was the professional competent way in which my entire treatment there was handled...i also toured the facility where the cells are harvested and stored...very impressive to see how this is run to insure no contamination...i can truly recommend the ict clinic based on my experience there...i look forward to returning there early next year!

Sounds great - :Clap-Hands: How many times do you have to return to insure that these injections work? & is there some kind of guaranty for return?

I am just happy for you that you've had this great experience

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK  & CONGRATS :Clap-Hands:

Rich - How bad was your walking before the stem cell treatment? Do you have to wear an orthotic? Can you walk barefoot (no shoes, or no devices?), can you walk quickly? any feeling in the affected leg? All before the stem cell treatments. It seems many of your posts have to do with how nice the medical staff was and how nice the facility was - what I'd like to hear about is how you are measuring improvement in your body....what your body was like before and what it is like now after the stem cell tx. Also when do you plan to return to Kiev? thanks very much - my husband is a left-hemi and can not walk barefoot - he must have an orthotic on and walks very slowly :chat:

the therapy definately improved my walking...it improved my stamina and the actual gait itself...i don't know what other details i can present about this...i was walking prior to the treatment as i've stated in previous posts...

i do use an afo often (not in my home and sometimes not for short trips outside) and i can walk barefoot...the speed of my walking has improved...as i've stated before, i can forward my right (unaffected) leg further ahead of my left leg now while keeping safely balanced using a small based quad cane...yes my affected leg has feeling...i'm now working with a new pt to get back dorsiflexion and plantarflexion...(i have something between trace and some plantarflexion)...altho i certainly did want to communicate how nice the entire staff in kiev was i trust that i also communicated that they were all highly competent and most importantly experts in the field of stem cell treatment...

i also started ot with a hand therapist today...i'm feeling good about the treatment protocol he outlined...i've had returns to my hand/arm but have been on a plateau for a while now...hopefully i'll get more as my body continues to heal...i've been out of the pt loop with my travels to florida and kiev...
