UNSWEET TEA

Guest

337 views

WHY WHY WHY WON'T ANYONE let me have UNSWEET TEA!!!!!!!! no matter HOW many times i say UNsweet tea, and even if the little screen at mcdonalds clearly says UNSWEET tea, 95% of the time i drive off to find out it's SWEET TEA!!!!!

i've tried to taste it first but INVARIABLY this will be the time i have to "pull up" (because i usually get grilled chicken that has to be cooked) and then they throw my order at me and run off and i have to go RIGHT back inside and get a new tea. it happens in nicer restaurants too. the ONLY time i didn't have a problem or get asked "UNsweet?" like there was something wrong with me was when i was in cincinnati once on a layover flight. when i told the waitress UNsweet tea, she said" that's all we have!!!!, we don't have sweetened tea here". i was THRILLED!!!!!!

what's SO unusual about UNsweet tea?? if they never got orders for it, they wouldn't sell it!!!!! i even tried saying" sugar free tea" and that made them MORE confused. i wait until i've said "number eight , add tomato, extra lettuce, potato instead of fries, 2 extra sour creams" and MAKE them ASK me what to drink, so i can clearly and plainly SAY UNsweet TEA!!!!!!! i will even ask them when they hand it to me, "is this UNsweet?". they say yes and THEN it isn't.

i don't know the answer. one day even, i just told the cashier ( who's been screwing up my tea order for over a year now) WATER. she had the NERVE to say "you usually order UNsweet tea". i said "YES I DO, but since you never want to GIVE it to me i decided to change!!!!!! if you THINK you will let me have it today, i'd LOVE to get it!!!". she let me have it THAT day, but not the next.

i guess i should learn to like SWEET tea or move to cincinnati.

I feal for you on this issue. My wife is diabetic and we've dealt with many restaraunts that think unsweet tea is a cardinal sin.

Here's a tip. Just say tea. I've found that by doing this 90% of the time they will ask me if it's sweet or unsweet or just give me unsweet by default.

Then again it could just be a regional thing uhm.gif

Cheers;

Michael

Kim,

Are you sure you aren't my soul sister! I order unsweet tea - no lemon at Mc Donalds and they give me raspberry! Thank Heavens for lipton's new cold water tea and the water cooler at work! lol
