Life is really good in Okieland. Better than the day the season opened. Sam and I have been out all week, and the fish gods have smiled upon us. We've been catching them "good". Drag our butts out of bed early and head out to the lake. Thermos of coffee, cheese, crackers, and a beefstick to munch on, and we're in there! We have a 6 fish per person limit, and we do that by noon. Get home, clean "em, and chow down. Tonight was baked rainbow trout stuffed with pesto, onions, and lemon. Toss in broccoli with cheese sause and cornbread and I think we were in heaven.

It's real good for Sam to get out and do this. She gets a kick out of the whole deal. We meet some great folks, get out of the house, and just kick back for a few hours. With her jacket, hat, boots, gloves and snow pants, the only thing you could see was her nose. Tomorrow is supposed to be a bit "nippy", so I'll probably head out by myself.
