Back to the VA
I had my appointment at the VA today. Fortunately, I told the bus company to make it a 2 hour appointment instead of the usual 1 hour, and I ended up needing every minute. First, the bus was 30 minutes late, (Roll up, roll up, roll up for the Magical Mystery Tour) but I got to the VA just in time.
On the way a woman tapped me on the shoulder and asked me if I had a dog. :Ask: I think she said she worked here, but she knew Teddy. :Hummm: That dog knows everyone,I think he should run for Mayor. He could probably do a pretty good job. The only thing I can think of is she might have worked the overnight shift on the weekend, because I get my laundry done on Saturday night, and Teddy always lets me know when anyone enters my (our) room.
I got to my appointment right at 9:00am. Unfortunately, Wednesday is a bad day at Orthopedics and they are very busy and not in a good mood. I waited and waited, then I waited some more. I had to go to the bathroom and when I finally found one my wheelchair would not fit through the door. :Soapbox: I returned to the Ortho room just in time to hear my name. I told them the same thing I told them in May that I needed a new KAFO. :toothy grin: They were not to happy I had not been to PT since April, but that was because of them. :fighter: They finally set me up for an orthotist evaluation. I was running out of time, my bus was to arrive in 10 minutes, so they said they would mail me my appointment letter. I barley made it to a bathroom, and even managed a quick cigarette, before the bus came.
There were 2 of us on the ride back home, and sure enough, I got a tour of the city. This one wasn't so bad because I was in a much better mood and we ended up going to a part of the city I had never been before.
I made it home just in time for lunch, after I made my greetings to Teddy. When he gets exited he starts turning circles. I had a good lunch, meatloaf.
All in all it wasn't as bad a trip as last time.
