Teddy the explorer

The evening belongs to Teddy. Usually, between 3:00 and 4:00 I take Teddy out and he goes where ever I can take him. There are two buildings in the complex where I live. I live in the Assisted Living and next door is an Independent Living facility. and Teddy loves to go exploring over there. He wears me out, but he has fun. New places to sniff and pee. Behind the building is a house with 2 Boston Terriers. Everytime Teddy walks by they start barking like crazy, luckily there is a fence, but Teddy just ignores them, As if he is above thier petty barking. He goes to other places around the area, but usually ends up in the yard of our building. He ends up just laying down sniffing the air and enjoying himself. He would stay outside until midnight if I would let him. When I do bring him back inside, especially when he would rather stay outside. It is like getting a little kid out of a swimming pool, when he isn't ready. to come inside.A few times I have had to drag him into the room, but most of the time he goes peacfully. However, once he does come inside he is very restless and constantly under my feet, until he finally settles down at about 8:00pm.

He has found a girlfriend or two, buthe doesn't spend too much time with them.

He has become pretty stuck up. He has some friends that want to pet him, but too often he is not in the mood and pretty much ignores them. When his friends have food that is a different story, at least until the treats run out.

Doug,

I somehow sense Doug goes where Teddy can take him and your afternoon outing is the highlight of both your days.

Nothing like new places to sniff and explore, mark your spot, and declare the entire complex as yours! Teddy Rules! Don't be surprised if he has his friends write to management for a name change to Teddy's Terrain. ~ he already has them paying for the favor of a pet with treats. smart pooch.

Thanks for the Teddy anedote, he's always fun to hear about.
