I know I have been bad at keeping you all up to date, I'll be better from now on. I have resigned from my job as Greg has been promoted/transferred and we had to move cities. I am now living in Richards Bay - a city on the north coast of Natal. It is soo hot up here, luckily we have a pool and air-con.

My recovery has come on in leaps and bounds, I have finally beaten my knee hyper-extension and have sort of started walking with a more normal gait. I still get incredibly tired and can't walk far or fast but Greg keeps my pace, so we get to where we want to go!!

My left hand is still slow to respond but I can now open my hand and hold things. I am trying to use it more efficiently in the kitchen by chopping onions and peeling potatoes. Those tasks are not easy and take me forever, so I make sure I start supper preparations well ahead of time!!

Good to hear from you again, hope all is well in all departments of life. I know about the knee and hand thing not working so well. The VA want to give me another knee and not pay me for the one I got that doesn't work too well. Your hand is opening while mine is trying to close up.

It'll take a while for you to get used to the new surroundings, take care!!

Hey Vix, about time you updated us. Have you got your own computer yet?

Hot is good. Warm, drizzly and overcast here on the beautiful East Coast of Australia, we are still waiting for the summer heat to come. I guess we will get sick of it when it is here as usual.

Glad to hear you are still seeing improvements with your hand and leg. That potato peeling sounds good therapy. As Jo said; don't worry about the time it takes you. It just amazes me that you can get improvement after so long.

Enjoy your new life, we moved around a bit with Ray's work and each area has its appeal and now it's happy memories.

(((Hugs))) from Sue.

Hi Jo - nice to meet you. I had my stroke March 2005 so I am 3 yrs 8 mnths into recovery and it has been a LONG road, but I am glad to say that even after so long I am still getting better. Almost every day I can do something new. Never give up hope of recovering.
