It has only taken 5 1/2 months , but a MAJOR MILESTONE has been achieved!!! I RODE MY BIKE TODAY!! :happydance:

 

For the record; it wasn't 25 miles. It was just up and down the street; but WHO CARES!!! Of course, I'm not neady to hop in the shower and shave my legs then pull on the spandex, but in time all things are possible.

 

Determination is the key to recovery!! Set your goals and pursue them vigorously...DON'T EVER QUIT TRYING !!! :beer:

hiphip hooray for you. within6 months you rode bike updown street, within year you will go back to your next goal, keep on conquering all your goals. as long as we are above ground keep making plan & goals for your life & start achieving them

Wow, reading that is so inspiring--and a good reminder for all of us that like Donna said, recovery never stops. Next time I get discouraged, I'm going to think about this. You musy be giddy with happiness, and you deserve to be!

I hadn't gotten home yet when I got a phone call from Harriet telling me about your bike ride! so...I pulled it up then called you! I am choked up and teary eyed while I am typing this. What a mile stone for you! I am beyond happy because I know how much you wanted to accomplish this by February! You DID it!!! :roflmao:

am so happy for you..... having those dreams come true those goals and then achieving them, you are just proof to other Stroke Survivors, those old times, those new comes, doesn't matter what phase you are in with your journey, seeing this and hearing about this miracle, you have just proved to them.... HOPE, hard work .... it all is worth while. I shall name you the "Lance Armstrong" of our StrokeNet Group. You go, you have given hope to others. I always have said: "There's Nothing To It but Just Do It" "Believe In Miracles And SOAR" well, Wes, you "ROAD" I am so proud of you and you have given inspiration to so many by your achievement. God was the wind beneath your wings. I bet your family is celebrating with you aren't they. I thought I heard a lot of cheering yesterday.

Can't wait to hear you signed up for the "Tour de France". We could all take a road trip and cheer you on from the side lines. What ya think?
