I got all electric and I called them and set up a plan to pay over 6 months. Of course the monthly bills keep coming, but they keep adding 6 months to the total without changing the pay amount. So, I pay some all year long. We open all the windows in the summer time.

The bill is way down but I keep paying. Give them a call, you are a senior and they want to help us seniors out!

I'm like you, SS check is fourth Wednesday, this month the 22nd. I hate it when it's the 28th. Their plan was to have everyone on that Wednesday set up. No more 3rd of the month unless it's the first Wednesday.

My wife says a lot of them still come in the bank on the 3rd to see if their checks posted to their accounts yet.

I do what Fred does and have what im Tucson they call an equal payment plan. I have it on gas and electric. At the end of the year if you are "over" you pay the balance" and any credit will go to next year (haven't had that yet). They base your payment on the last years' payments and then set an averageSaves a lot of headaches plus I know I won't be late so they won't cut it off. Leah

Jeannie: honey, you must sit down and write out all your monthly bills, even those that come after your check arrives. If you send them something, they can not turn you off. Budget out what you need monthly and try to put aside a little for those that only come once every six month or even yearly. If you can send the gas company $10.00 to save $10.00 for the late electric bill, then you must do so. But until you write out on paper exactly what you owe each month, including gas, groceries; this will be a never ending circle. Take a day, bite the bullet and try to organize and budget. Debbie

Debbie Social Security just isn't enough. And the bills keep increasing.

I have all my bills written out every month in by bill book. I know their are allot of others in the same situation. You too Fred. I'm just living every day as decent as I can. I refuse really for the bills to come first.I'm thankful I have a roof over my head, and food to eat. My life is just not the same when I was making a living, work overtime and set that money aside for those special extras I enjoy. Jeannie
