Two in a day ?!!

So my darn little yip,yip ( dog) gets out again.... Yes it is a daily issue..he runs straight to the field and pasture.. And mostly just snoops around the area...but I got me a neighbor who has not enough to do.. He is fourtyish with his own health issues.. Obesity and diabetes.. We are both out shoveling snow.. Now mind you I pay 200.00 in condo fees A month

for this service?? But whatever it wasn't much and the exercise is good.. The guy comes over to me and starts yelling at me about the dogs daily escapes, the fact I shouldn't have been let into the condo with my pets, the area where the kids guests park, the fact that I park in my drive way and not in my garage... Well he has me on the dogs absolutely, and the guests needed to be reminded again..teenagers.. But I drew the line and told him I own my drive way and he will not tell me to park in outside of my garage.. He said everyone here wants a nice looking area and I am bringing down the property value by having cars sitting all over ... Two in my double garage way.... One is a brand-new corolla ( and it has only been here while the one daughter recoups from the flu) the other is a 2008 Acadia ....the other one that belongs to the teenager is a 2006 impala... None of them junk.....and the kid who parks where he shouldn't is important to Dan.. And he just comes in the evenings and leaves early but he should not park there, and I have told him.... So now he parks in the guest parkway and I gave him the security code number to let himself in..... That was really what I was trying to avoid.... The intercom does not work right so I can't let people in remotely and I felt I shouldn't give out security numbers to visitors, but oh well.. Rather than him come directly to my patio door now he comes through the main entrance using the security password... The kid comes and helps with all those man things I can't do like hang bars, assemble by outside cupboard I purchased for outside my condo to hold shovels, brooms ect... Since I am bring property value down.... The guy next door ...the spy ... Has a fire pit with a tarp over it ...so I figure goose vs. Gander..... And all my animals will be certified as therapy animals by the weekend... Doesn't give the dogs the right to roam I agree.... It was the nasty tone the guy took with me... He told me I should just tell Dan how it is gonna be. Yes and no... This guys does not know Dan nor met him.. And the little control he has over the garage is something he may have, yes if we get two feet of snow I will park inside but man oh man... It is our area to do with as we wish... Beth has her allergy test tomorrow so I won't be here when all the hens and the one fat rooster have a little impromptu meeting about the terrible outdoor cupboard..... I have read the condo rules and unless I am actually changing structure then there isn't much they can do..... And the certified therapy dogs will be exempt from any restrictions ..but again yes we have got to get better about the dogs getting out... And now that all will know the security password and use the proper door in all likelihood it will not happen as much... I might just lock the patio door and hang the security password out so anyone can come in the front door... Then there is minimal risk to the dogs getting out period hum mm.... Very very passive aggressive of me... Again it was the general tone the guy took with me not the fact he complained... And I am one to meet someone half way...... funny how last year this guy supposedly almost lost his foot due to diabetes, you would think that would give some empathy... But I have learned it usually goes one of two ways.. Either a formerly I'll person will become more giving and caring or nasty and have the world is out to get me attitude...... I am very giving and caring and do pretty much everything I can and share what I have been blessed with... But I also somewhat will rise to challenges like this aggressively... This guy just seems to look for problems... Works part time .. And sits and watches tv the rest of his day ... I've not ever seen the exercise equipment being used by him..... The same equipment that is NOT supposed to be in the common area.... Condo by law..... Goose and Gander again....( it is his own personal equipment creating a hazard for whomever may stumble over it) better be careful. I hate it when my dander is raised...... putting all this into words helps..... I just feel like enough !!!! As obese and non active and diabetic as this guy is he is really at risk for a stroke himself, and at his weight he won't rehab well.... so anything he creates here with me is not gonna end well for him..or me... But man oh man I do dislike this feeling of WTF is this guys problem.. And having loved in the country for so long and being forced into this move just adds to the frustration of everything.... Erika has the flu, Beth has those wonderful hives and swelling everywhere, Dan has just the everyday stroke drama.... Today it was the cleaning of the kitchen, which was awesome but everything had been moved everywhere, and I am trying to get my paperwork in order for tax time, and shovel since the 200.00 per month condo fee doesn't seem to be covering that unless we get like a foot or more... And the daughters new Toyota battery died in this cold snap we had so a new battery had to be put in.. Under warranty but still

annoying..and be diplomatic to a neighbor who really dislikes me and probably the world...... That's us the stroke people who bring the property value down..... I have to sweep my lawn so I can lay rug so Dan can walk to the car.... And yep parking in the garage helps but, the shiney epoxy floor when wet is way worse than ice.... And Dan the old farmer inside of the stroke already has figured this out.... And the shiny epoxy floor has no drain.. So the water just sits... Nice real, nice.... Mr neighbor ... Not the good kind............

Nancy,

Welcome to city-dwelling! Yeah, I know that isn't comforting but whether it's an apartment, condo or even a home in a subdivision, there is always one self-appointed property manager and without fail that person couldn't manage a crowd of one!

Ironically, the person usually is taking liberties with what is allowed and not allowed too but they can't even imagine what they're doing would be a problem.

Don't let him get to you. Clear everything with the managers and let Mr Neighbor spin his wheels. He probably feel loss of control too and trying to manage the condos gives him some control too.

We always seem to move next door to the self appointed mayor of the block ourselves, maybe not surprising but always teacher couples who both have all summer and endless holidays to observe transgressions. Ray used to have the most wild and funny run-ins with all of them. He never took any crap from anyone back when he could talk, so there was always a funny story to tell and they seldom approached him a second time. He could be really wicked without even thinking about it. They'd come to me and think I would agree with them; I was a lot nicer to their face but they didn't know I depended on Ray to weed out the jerks. Play good cop, bad cop if you can! He won't know what to think.

Don't be too nice to your new friend, stand your ground. Funny now, our worse nemesis next door totally ignores us since the stroke and even waves on occasion when we drive by. I am shocked every time it happens. Then again his big "complaint" back then was that Ray smoked in the back yard and occasionally cursed but that's over now on both counts. Our issue was that he boards dogs in the back, keeps them in open pens and they bark and howl all day and night, rain and snow included and no shelter for the poor things. Plus blasting music like it's Disney World when they're in the pool and so on, they love noise. This too shall pass, your neighbor will get tired of the fight if you just ignore him. A one sided fight is sort of boring. And if he's as unhealthy as he sounds, he won't be around all that much longer.

Nancy, all I can say is something has to give in his attitude pretty soon but you pay your fee for the condo and he pays his so what and how you do with your portion of the property is your business not his. I've seen people like him before and he probably will not be moving no time soon so he has to deal with what he doesn't like how you do things on your portion of the property.

There is really nothing he can do but complain to the owner but nothing can be done to you on your property. I had a neighbor to complain to the city inspectors because I had cement poured beside my house to park my grand son's car and mine to get his off the street and I didn't have to block my garage entry so my wife can get in and out anytime without me having to move my car.

She moved out saying her kids couldn't play there well that is part of my property and it was a foot from her property line as required by the city ordinance. You'll see when you come this way.

Do you have any portion of the yard front, back or side fenced in where the dogs are still on your property and fix the fence where they can't escape??

otherwise I would forget he even lives there!

Nancy oh crumb etc. what a jerk & they are every where! after farm life this must be a shock ! I'm sure Wayne worries about that stuff & not getting to step out on deck in jammies & shoot magpies& gophers.

Like others say - check with condo board to make sure thes ethings definitely are not breaking any rules. iif you really are ok. you have to try to ignore him, which jerks make it hard to do . & try to remember - it is about him NOT YOU & you can't educate an idiotso don't waste time justifying

The dog & you are going to have to learn to deal with town life a quick walk on leash to do business?

..hope soon you get answers to hives--- logically how much more can be piled on?
