Busy week next week

Next week will be a busy week...son and hubby will be shooting dorm pics at a local college...these are pics of the residents who live on a floor or within a 'house'. We offer them an incentive of contest, this is $150 to the floor/house that has the most creative pose. We shoot a formal pose and then a creative pose. We used to call them rowdy pose..but college guys automatically think beer and naked when you say' rowdy'. The creative pose is so the sales will be up and so it's not so boring for us, the photographer. It also createss unity for the floor/house...the residents comspire on a theme for their picture. Over the years, I think I've seen about everything. One year a floor of guys came into the lounge where we were shooting the pics and spread plastic garbage bags then newspapers. Then the guys got dressed in towels as diapers. Then two guys stood in front with garbage cans in front of them and 'on cue' proceeded to vomit ..of course they wanted the most spew to show. One guy has a week stomach and the other had been drinking all day...they were eating red jello to get a great color. lovely! College boys! yikes.gifbeer.gif

I could go on and on of different examples of creative poses we've shot over the past 15 years. We used to shoot another major college dorm pics for the campus yearbook but someone complained and invented that we were encouraging drinking and sex. This came from us just taking their idea for their theme and trying to get their idea across in the pic. Or from when we take the pic, we tell them to say your favorite nighttime activity to get them to smile. It's in their own minds about the drinking and/or sex.
